"Recently I have had an increasing number of clients tell me they 'cannot do a pose or they cannot do yoga'. To me they did not practice the right style of yoga - there is always a variation of the pose or of yoga that is 'doable' and will provide similar or the same benefits in a body honest manner. Many of us go too far, too fast in our yoga practice; especially in some of the more recent styles of yoga where training is completed in 2 weeks. I also meet more and more clients who tell me they can do a pose such as the wheel or the hand stand; but when we go to do it they really do not know how to do it - what muscles to engage or thought processes to use - they have only been lifted into or placed in positon by their teachers. More and more in modern life we are encouraged to accelerate through the learning, sensing, feeling process and jump straight to the doing process. We need to get back to the 'roots'; the 'mindfulness' of yoga practice." ~ Trudy Prevost; Rainbow Health and Wellness; Dominica
